Worldscale Association

Worldscale Association approached Zentura with a view to refurbishing their outdated offices located next door to the iconic 30 St Mary Axe, also known as The Gherkin.

Their offices had not been updated since the original fit-out in the 1970’s and Worldscale wanted to bring them up to date to create a better working environment for their 30 staff.  The key challenge was to refurbish the entire space whilst the offices remained occupied – this meant a phased delivery to minimise downtime.

We started with the entire office space being stripped back to shell, including flooring, partitions, ceilings and the existing HVAC system; leaving a blank canvas on which to create a fantastic new environment.  High specification double glazed partitions were installed along with a new suspended ceiling, LED lighting and a Mitsubishi VRF ducted HVAC system.

The reception gives a great first impression to the new space, with a bespoke curved reception desk, illuminated branding coupled with a half height plant area.  The mixture of textures used creates a warm and welcoming reception.  A bespoke matching storage unit was built to showcase a fabulous model ship reflecting the company’s shipping background.  Custom manifestation on the glazing creates a smooth flow to the corridor whilst giving high levels of privacy to the cellular offices on either side.   Many features used in the fit-out exude a high quality feel such as the full height walnut doors.

To create a corporate environment in keeping with the company traditions, a custom made boardroom table was built with feature black glass panels and a matching media wall was installed.

The highlight of the space is the staff kitchen and breakout area; a bright white gloss kitchen is complemented by a custom printed glass splashback with a magnificent London skyline panorama.  Brightly coloured barstools with natural oak bases surround a beautiful matching high dining table.   The high backed sofas with custom button detail offer another seating choice for the staff.

The project was completed on time and within budget over 2 phases – the end result is a stunning new office space for Worldscale Association and another highly satisfied client.
